Canada NOC Code List 2026:
Find your National Occupation Classification
Canada’s National Occupation Classification (NOC) is a nationally-recognized standardized system that assigns a code and job description to every in-demand occupation in the Canadian labor market. Codes are categorized based on the type of work and job duties. When applying under an Economic Immigration program, candidates must select the NOC that best matches their job.
TEER Categories
As of November 16, 2022, IRCC has switched to the new 2021 version of the NOC. The previous skill types (0, A, B) have been replaced by the Training, Education, Experience, and Responsibilities (TEER) categories.
- TEER 0: Management occupations.
- TEER 1: Completion of a university degree (bachelor’s, master’s, or doctorate).
- TEER 2: Completion of a post-secondary education program of two to three years at community college, institute of technology, or CÉGEP.
- TEER 3: Completion of a post-secondary education program of fewer than two years, or apprenticeship training of fewer than 2 years.
- TEER 4: Completion of secondary school, or several weeks of on-the-job training.
- TEER 5: Short work demonstration and no formal educational requirements.
Affected Programs
The shift to the new NOC TEER categories affects eligibility requirements for several popular immigration programs, including:
- Express Entry (Federal Skilled Worker, Federal Skilled Trades, Canadian Experience Class)
- Atlantic Immigration Program
- Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)

- Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot
